* EcoSport is among the first Ford vehicles in Europe to be equipped with Ford SYNC with AppLink for voice control of smartphone apps to include Spotify and TomTom
* Equipped with the 2013 and 2012 International Engine of the Year 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, the EcoSport is the first-ever SUV to be offered with a 1.0-litre engine
* 125 PS 1.0-litre EcoSport achieves 5.3 l/100 km and 125 g/km CO2*. EcoSport is also available with 112 PS 1.5-litre petrol engine that delivers 6.3 l/100 km and 149 g/km CO2; and a very fuel-efficient 90 PS 1.5-litre TDCi diesel that achieves 4.6 l/ 100 km and 120 g/km

Ford’s first global SUV, EcoSport is stylish and practical – with a short bonnet, raked front pillars, and a distinctive five-piece chrome front grille with angular headlamps and signature LED light strips.

Available with 17-inch alloy wheels, silver roof rails, power mirrors, and fog lamps featuring a chrome surround, the EcoSport has been designed with a keen eye for detail. For example, the boot release mechanism is integrated into the right-hand rear light cluster to mirror the left-hand cluster’s reversing light, and also is mounted high to help ensure it stays clean on the move.

All-new EcoSport is offered with the highly-acclaimed turbocharged 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine – 2013 and 2012 International Engine of the Year – to deliver performance to rival a traditional 1.6-litre engine, but with significantly better fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.

The 125 PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost achieves 5.3 l/100 km and 125 g/km CO2*. EcoSport also offers a 112 PS 1.5-litre petrol engine that can achieve 6.3 l/100 km and 149 g/km CO2 specified with a five-speed manual gearbox, or 7.9 l/100 km with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. A 90 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine achieves 4.6 l/100 km with 120 g/km CO2 emissions.

The Ford SYNC in-car connectivity system will enable owners to voice-activate phone calls and select music from devices connected via Bluetooth or USB.

Ford SYNC with AppLink will enable EcoSport owners to be among the first Ford drivers to voice-activate apps, including leading music streaming service Spotify; the TomTom turn by turn navigation service with audible instructions and on-screen mapping; and that enables booking of rooms in 145,000 hotels in 19,000 destinations worldwide.

In testing, the all-new EcoSport was first subjected to 20,000 virtual test scenarios using a computer programme that replicated a multitude of different road conditions from around the world. It was then driven more than 2 million km on roads in South America, North America, Asia and Europe, in temperatures ranging from 50 C to -25 C, and at altitudes of up to 4,300 metres.

EcoSport’s agility and ability ensure it can tackle even the most challenging road conditions, whether it’s narrow, twisting, uneven rural roads, or the potholes, and high kerbs of an urban environment. The 10.6 m turning circle is among the best in its segment, and the EcoSport – which is equipped with front and rear skid plates – also has a 200 mm ground clearance, a 22.1 degree approach angle, 35 degree departure angle and a wading depth of 550 mm
